A bare-chested man with a red-and-gold headband and red flower garlands holds a small brass oil lamp with a flame in his right hand, lit at dusk beside a large bronze cauldron-style vessel of burning fire surrounded by red and yellow marigold garlands. Behind him is a tall ornate metal lamp pillar and a corrugated roof. Brass horns or instruments are visible at left. The scene suggests a Karthigai Deepam fire-lighting ritual; no legible name or identity is shown.
