Night outdoor photo of a devotional gathering under a decorated canopy with a multicolored floral and bead-trimmed border. A long-haired man in orange robes with a red-and-white rudraksha-style mala sits on an ornate gold throne-like seat, smiling as devotees approach. Two standing men in orange garments with mala necklaces stand on the raised platform behind him. In front, a bare-chested man in white dhoti with an orange and gold border stands with hands near the throne, and a woman in a gold sari with flowers in her hair offers reverence nearby. A photographer on a raised position holds a camera above the crowd, and spectators in white shirts and mixed clothing fill the foreground. A banner with a world map and Tamil text hangs behind.

Seated under the canopy is a figure in orange robes with a crown-like headdress and gold necklaces, beside a trident and a deity image in the back. Around the chariot, devotees pull and walk with it: a bald man in an orange robe and rudraksha mala gestures forward, a man in white dhoti with a mala and a woman in a white sari with a red-bordered blouse walk nearby, and a woman in a teal sari stands at right. A boy in a green checked shirt is in the foreground. Lamps light the scene against a dark background.2011-12-17November 09 20112011-11-09Night procession scene at a temple-style gold chariot.
