A photo from an annadan-style food offering at a hall with red drapes and a Shiva backdrop. In the foreground at left, a bare-chested priest in a saffron and orange cloth with a beaded necklace serves cooked rice from a large silver bowl onto a green leaf. A young girl in red top and white skirt kneels beside him and reaches toward the food. A woman in white with a red shawl kneels beside her, and a man in white holds a leaf plate at right. Several white-clad devotees wearing red-orange shawls stand and sit in the background, and some wear white head caps. Banners read Inner Awakening and Shivoham.

In the foreground, a bare-chested sannyasi with long dreadlocked hair wrapped in a dark turban and a reddish-brown wrap, seated and reaching into a large silver bowl of yellow rice. Around him, women in white saris with red-orange and gold borders, white head coverings, and lanyards kneel and stand, one kneeling woman holding a white paper plate and another extending her palms toward the offering. Steel trays of rice sit on the mat, and white paper sheets cover the floor. Behind them, devotees in white and orange move about near a wall of framed photographs, consistent with a Maheshwara Puja food offering.2016-02-23
