Photograph of a night-time Karthikai Deepam ritual at a temple-style shrine with pink curtains and carved stone pillars. A tall man with long dark hair, wearing an orange robe, a heavy gold necklace and holding a bamboo staff, reaches toward a stone altar laden with oil lamps, brass vessels, fruit and sweets. A second person in orange stands behind him. Rows of small clay lamps line the step and a flower and petal rangoli glows in the lower right corner. A blue-clad deity murti sits at the left of the altar. Long dark hair, saffron robes and gold ornaments distinguish the central figure, though his identity is uncertain from appearance alone.
