A photograph inside a white-walled, unfinished hall with a white metal scaffold frame and a black speaker mounted high on it. A standing man in white dhoti and white shirt, with a red-and-gold ornament at his neck, stands on a raised platform near a bed with a blue-striped mattress. Beside him a second man in white kurta and dhoti with red border holds a white bucket and looks toward the platform. On the right wall hangs a large printed portrait of a long-haired figure with a red bindi, wearing a saffron-orange shawl. Blue towels hang over a chair, with paint tins and a plastic jerrycan on the floor.

On the left, a golden canopy (kalasha-like chhatra) draped with yellow and white flower garlands sits over a deity murti or ritual object. A man in white clothes stands on a metal stepladder fixing a decorative emblem on the wall, while another man in white with a yellow shawl holds a small metal vessel. On the right, a seated man in white shirt wears a rudraksha mala and holds lit candles. Wooden pillars, burlap wall panels and a large carved frame form the backdrop, with brass lamps in the foreground.2008-12-28November 17 20102010-11-17
