Night outdoor ritual at an ashram stage. A woman in a white sari with a cream-coloured head wrap and a flower in her hair stands beside an ornate red velvet chair with gold trim, gesturing with an orange cloth. Seated on the left in a row, several women in orange, red and green saris hold pink flowers and face her. A man in a white dhoti with a red border and gold necklace speaks into a microphone behind them. Brass oil lamps (diyas) with flames sit on a flower-strewn platform, with a conch shell and marigold petals in front. A man in orange robes stands at the right edge holding an instrument. Lights and a decorative backdrop frame the scene.2010-10-16Outdoor evening gathering under floodlights, with a crowd of devotees behind a barrier. A seated figure on a gold-and-red throne (peetha) with a cushion is surrounded by yellow and orange marigold garlands and red flowers. He wears a white turban, a leopard-print shawl over a white garment, and a long garland, and is smiling broadly. Devotees in white kurtas and an orange-clad man with a shawl stand close, and a person in white kneels and bows near the throne. A tray of coins, nuts and a coconut sits on the dais. A man in white with a rudraksha mala stands at left. The seated figure matches the page's Swamiji candidate by visible cues: turban, long swept-back hair and ornate garland, with clothing and adornment consistent with the cues, so he is labelled Swamiji (probable) and marked in_person.2010-12-29August 09 20152015-08-09A seated man in an orange saffron robe with a long, swept-back hairstyle and beaded mala necklaces sits on an ornate golden throne with a magenta cushion, speaking to a seated group in a hall with a blue curtain and a projection screen behind. Platters of fruit, sweets and red offerings sit on a golden tray in front of the seated devotees. Beside the throne, a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with tripundra marks sits near a woman in a white sari, a man in a blue polo shirt with a name badge, and several devotees in saris and kurtas. At the left edge, a man in orange robes sits beside a microphone stand. A projector and water bottle rest on a wooden stand by the throne.2011-01-23May 21 20142014-05-21Indoor padapuja ritual in an ornate hall with gold lion sculptures and a wooden throne. A figure in orange robes, a pink and white flower garland, bangles and a gold waist belt sits on the throne with bare feet, while devotees in white clothes and orange shawls kneel and hold incense sticks and oil lamps on a leopard-print cloth. He holds yellow cards and hands one to a kneeling woman in a light blue and white patterned salwar, who is joined at her hands with a smile. Behind them a standing woman in an orange sari with a rudraksha mala and a tilak watches. Orange-robed people sit in the background, and a banana-leaf decoration and a painted banner stand behind the throne. The man appears to be Swamiji (probable), seated on the throne in a turban and garland, with the orange robe and garland as the qualifying cues.2015-08-09A seated figure with a shaved head? No: a figure with long dark hair wearing a rudraksha-style beaded necklace, a gold bangle and a maroon-and-gold draped garment places one raised hand on the forehead of a man in a white kurta with an orange-red shawl. The recipient stands with palms together at his waist while the officiant holds a folded paper in the other hand. Behind them stand women in white and orange clothing and gold-embroidered draperies, with a golden ornamental panel at left. The scene appears to be a blessing or darshan ritual inside a temple setting.2015-10-24
