June 14 20092009-06-14A photograph taken at an open-sided ashram entrance under a corrugated metal roof, with palm trees and a white latticed screen on the right. A tall man with long swept-back dark hair, bare-armed, wears a saffron-orange wrap and a long rudraksha mala, walking barefoot across a green mat toward the viewer. Beside him a shaved-headed monk in orange robes holds a folded white paper. Behind them a line of women in white and cream saris and salwar-kameez stands with palms pressed together in anjali, one small girl in a turquoise outfit among them. Further back, other white-clad devotees and orange-robed attendants move about a courtyard with stone statues and a red-and-yellow poster of deities on a wall. Swamiji (probable) is the tall man with long hair, saffron wrap and rudraksha mala, shown in person; this is a pada puja-style reception with devotees offering reverence.2010-09-14A photograph of a saffron-robed man with a tall orange turban and a long white and red flower garland walking barefoot down a red carpet in a hall. Attendants in orange and white line both sides of the carpet; a woman in an orange sari with maroon border and a woman in a light blue sari hold offering trays and a basket of flowers. On the right, people in white with folded hands greet him. Behind, a table with white cloth holds books and red flower garlands.2010-02-15June 14 20092009-06-14A photograph of a welcome procession walking down a red carpet inside a white-walled hall lined with white-draped tables.
