Several men in plain white dhotis and bare upper bodies sit cross-legged around the pit, wearing gold-coloured and beaded necklaces; several hold brass plates and bowls of offerings and wood. A large seated figure in white at the centre tends the fire, and a brass oil lamp burns at the right edge beside a purple cloth. A woman in a white sari stands in the background among other white-clad attendants, and a few onlookers sit at the far left near a whitewashed wall and orange-painted building.2010-10-16 +1 copiesOctober 03 20142014-10-03October 03 20142014-10-03July 11 20142014-07-11October 03 20142014-10-03June 12 20042004-06-12Outdoors under palm trees, a shaven-headed priest in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged at a white square fire pit, performing a homa with burning sticks and ritual offerings. Beside him stands a brass vessel and a kalasha-like pot decorated with orange marigolds, and a brass lamp sits on a saffron-coloured cloth. Behind the fire, a large crowd of seated devotees in white clothes and red-and-white lanyards with neck cords watches, some with hands folded in namaskar. Low orange-walled buildings and a yellow-painted structure stand in the background. A statue row and a red circular pole are visible.2010-12-16April 01 20132013-04-01
