Night procession through a dense, hazy crowd under bright orange sodium lights at a Kumbh Mela-style camp setting. In the centre, a richly decorated ratha-style float with golden ornaments, garlands and a seated figure in red and gold; men in saffron and white stand beside it and walk alongside. Many orange and saffron flags, banners and a large hand-painted banner dominate the scene, with barricades and tents in the background. Visible crowds are very large, with thousands of people pressed together behind barriers. A small white-clad figure with a staff walks at the front of the float; a seated figure in a crown-like headdress appears on the float, and a person cue cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.

A large white banner carries a portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" showing a smiling man with long hair and saffron clothing, a printed image rather than a physical person. Beside it, a richly decorated float with gold and flower ornaments carries a deity murti and robed attendants, and saffron and yellow flags wave above. Uniformed police line barricades at the front. The people visible in the crowd are too many and too distant to count individually.2013-02-10Night procession at a crowded Kumbh Mela site, lit by warm golden haze. At centre, a richly decorated palanquin covered in marigold garlands and small lamps carries a seated figure in orange robes with a crown-like headpiece and red-and-white beaded garlands. Two men in saffron and white stand beside the palanquin; one holds a long silver trident-like staff and another wears a rudraksha mala. Orange flags with a black emblem, decorated poles and large banners fill the scene, with dense crowds packed behind barricades. A banner in the lower left reads Nithyananda Dhyanapeetham. Probable Swamiji is the seated figure in orange on the palanquin, identified by the orange robes, crown and garlands.2013-02-10 +1 copies
