A lone figure in dark clothing and a head covering walks down the centre of the road, while a small group of women in saris, one in red and others in dark and orange tones, walk together on the right beside parked yellow vehicles and a stacked wooden cart decorated with gold and red cloth. Sparkling mist or spray hangs in the light. The scene feels like an early-morning procession or pilgrimage walk.2017-11-11November 11 20172017-11-11November 11 20172017-11-11A night-time photograph of a dimly lit stone-paved courtyard. Several women in sarees walk across the frame: one in a dark outfit at centre, one in a red and orange saree near a yellow vehicle, and others in dark and blue sarees at the right beside a decorated yellow cart with garlands and flower-covered platform. Strong floodlight glare falls across the pavement, and a dark silhouetted umbrella or canopy occupies the left foreground. A dark silhouetted figure in a long dark robe walks toward the camera in the foreground, arms slightly out. To the right, several people in dark clothing and a shadowy temple-style chariot or float with yellow-gold frames stand along the roadside under umbrellas. Yellow construction or heavy machinery sits in the background.2017-11-11November 16 20152015-11-16October 30 20162016-10-30Night procession on a paved road with a blurred car and headlights at left. A central bearded man in a crown, a tiered gold-and-green garland, a grey-brown textured skirt over red trousers and gold armbands leads the group. Attendants in saffron, orange and white saris carry tall silver trident staffs (trishula) and a silver umbrella canopy is held above the central figure. Several women in green, olive and maroon saris walk alongside; a trident is mounted on the car's bonnet. Street lights and a building with colourful bicycles are behind them. The central figure's appearance is consistent with a person candidate, but the cues are not distinctive enough to confirm, so his identity is uncertain; he is presented in a ceremonial procession role.2016-12-09
