The statue is adorned with a yellow and red rose garland, and brass lamps and a pot sit in front. Behind are gold-patterned metal panels, a red and orange cloth backdrop, and a jeweled ornament. The scene is an abhishekam ritual.2011-07-26A photograph of a temple abhishekam at a stone shrine. A priest in white dhoti with a red border and gold-beaded necklaces stands at right, holding a brass ritual vessel and pouring over a white-coated stone deity statue, whose hands are raised in blessing. A second priest in white with a shaved head and bare upper body stands behind him at left. Brass kalashas sit at the lower left, and a small carved black stone deity panel is set into the granite shrine. A saffron curtain and iron gate with gold scrollwork form the background. Painted white and red striped pillars frame the scene.2010-12-14
