Photograph of a outdoor ashram courtyard beside a whitewashed building with barred windows. Several men in white ritual and everyday clothes stand in line holding steel plates and small cups, apparently collecting food or tea. The man in front wears a white short-sleeved shirt, grey trousers, glasses and a lanyard, carrying a steel plate. Beside him a man in white shirt and white dhoti holds a cup on a tray. Further back, a man in a cream kurta holds a plate, while others in white kurtas and dhotis stand near a green hose and a stack of cylinders. The setting is a dirt-floored yard with a banana leaf in the foreground.

Most men wear white shirts with white dhotis, and several wear rudraksha or bead necklaces. A woman in a white sari with a gold border and a dark beaded necklace stands near the center, holding a small pink bag. An older man with a white beard on the far right wears a white shirt and dhoti with arms folded. Some are talking together, others are looking off to the side. Dry earth and a bit of greenery are visible in the background. The setting suggests a break between sessions at an ashram program.2006-10-07A photograph inside a large hall with pillars, ceiling fans and fluorescent lights. A line of men in white shirts and dhotis stands holding metal and white disposable plates, several with food on them; the man at left holds a plate of rice and side dishes. In the centre an elderly man with white hair and a white dhoti wears a string of white beads and a sacred thread, holding a steel plate. A man in a red and blue striped shirt stands beside him, and a young man in a pink shirt stands behind. The scene reads as a communal meal line at a programme.
