An open-air metal casting furnace fires strongly at night. Tall orange flames rise from a small brick and stone-lined hearth set in reddish earth, with a flat sheet-metal lid resting over part of the opening. Grey ash and charcoal lie around the hearth, and iron tongs and rods rest on the ground in the foreground beside a corrugated metal wall. No people are visible.

A photograph of a traditional metal casting furnace on a dirt and concrete floor. A brick-built hearth holds a glowing orange crucible of molten metal, with a long iron tongs or rod resting along the left side and a clay vessel beside the furnace. Scattered ash and sparks cover the ground, with a smaller glowing ember patch at upper left. No people are visible in the frame, only the furnace, tools and the lower part of a white-clad leg at the bottom left edge.

A dim workshop floor of packed dirt and paving holds two fires burning on flat metal sheets. The nearer sheet glows orange-red with flames licking up from its edges, and a pair of long iron tongs lies across the ground beside it. A second smaller fire burns on the far right. Behind them stand a pile of earth, scattered bricks, sacks, buckets and tools against a whitewashed wall. No people are visible. The photo shows metalworking or forge activity rather than a ritual.

A photograph of an open pit in the ground, lined with glowing red coals and two flames rising from a crucible-like vessel set in the earth. Dark ground surrounds the pit with scattered metal rods, a ladle-like tool and debris. Near the top edge, the lower legs of people in checked dhoti-style cloth are partly visible, but no person stands clearly in the frame. The scene suggests metal casting work being done in a makeshift furnace.
