A photograph of an excavated construction trench on a dry, earthen site. A long concrete foundation beam or plinth runs down the centre of the trench, with exposed rebar cages and steel reinforcement in the foreground pit. Piles of cut grey stone slabs and loose rubble lie on the ground beside the trench, and a leafy branch hangs in the upper left. A taut string line runs along the trench to guide alignment.
