A photograph of a ritual bathing ceremony in shallow river water under a clear sky. In the centre, a man with long dark hair and a rust-red robe, wearing a heavy rudraksha mala and a large ornate gold pendant, stands in the water with his palms pressed together in prayer. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders and gold necklaces stand in the water, some holding hands in a chain. A man in a saffron-orange robe with a gold necklace kneels to the right. Red and orange flags, a garland and a few cameras and mobile phones appear in the background. The water is muddy brown.

Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders and orange-robed participants stand in the water, several wearing gold chains and rudraksha malas. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders, orange and maroon robes, and rudraksha malas wade and gather close, some reaching out to touch or support him, as a crowd watches from the bank under a bright sky with a decorated ratha-style float at the right edge, consistent with a river bathing procession. Several people in the background hold up cameras. Hair, robes and ornament details suggest a ceremonial bathing rite. Individual visible cues: long swept-back hair, gold necklace, maroon robe, and rudraksha malas on several attendants.2016-05-09May 09th 20162016-05-09May 09th 20162016-05-09May 09th 20162016-05-09
