Night-time scene at an outdoor metal-casting or heating site: a large glowing orange crucible-like vessel sits on a bed of coals on the ground, with an orange flame underneath. Several men surround it. A man in a white sleeveless undershirt and white dhoti kneels at the centre, holding a long iron pole, while a man in a white shirt and white dhoti bends forward on the right gripping another pole. Standing figures in yellow shirts, checked shirts and dhotis watch, one with arms folded. Thick steel cables run diagonally across the foreground, and bright floodlight glare and smoke fill the background of an unfinished brick wall. Five to seven men are visible.
