In the foreground a woman in orange clothing, wearing an orange head wrap, rudraksha beads and bangles, sits cross-legged and pours an offering from a ladle into the fire, with brass bowls and small copper vessels arranged beside her. Behind her, a row of seated people in white and orange clothes sits on striped mats under strings of colourful lights, and a decorated flower-garlanded object and oil lamps stand on the left. Persons in white ritual clothing are scattered across the background.2017-02-21A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night in an open-air setting. A shaved-headed priest in an orange-brown saffron robe and a rudraksha mala sits on a striped cloth, using a long ladle to pour offerings into a brick-lined fire pit with tall flames. Silver bowls of grains and a small metal kalasha sit nearby. Two men in white clothing with red shawls sit at the left, partly visible, and a chair sits behind them. Sacred ash marks decorate the priest's forehead and arms.2013-03-31A homa fire ritual in progress: a brick-lined fire pit with a bright flame, scattered pink flower petals and offerings such as lemons, brass bowls and a tray of grains. Three men in saffron-orange robes sit close by; the central figure, with an orange cloth and gold beaded necklace, holds his hands over the flame while the man on the left, with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala, holds a sacred item. A man in white with an orange shawl sits at right beside a microphone stand. Seated devotees in white and yellow clothing sit in the background, and a carved wooden chair stands behind the central figure.2009-06-09October 01 20112011-10-01Outdoor fire ritual at dusk. A brick-lined homa fire pit burns brightly in the foreground, with marigold petals scattered on the bricks and small brass bowls of offerings nearby. A person in a saffron-orange robe with a red forehead mark sits cross-legged behind the fire, holding a lit brass oil lamp in one hand and a small ladle-like ritual implement in the other. Beside them, a second person in white clothes with an orange shawl sits behind a microphone stand. Two people are visible in the scene, with bare ground and dark foliage behind them. The saffron-robed figure's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person, but identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2006-09-21Outdoor fire ritual at dusk beside a white brick fire pit with a large open flame and scattered orange flower petals on the bricks. A man with long dark hair and a red mark on his forehead sits cross-legged in a flowing orange robe, speaking near a microphone on a stand. Beside him, a man in white clothes with an orange shawl sits close by. A metal vessel and a small brass object stand near the fire, with dark trees behind. This appears to be a homa at dusk. A visible candidate is present with long hair, saffron robe and forehead mark, but the face and appearance are not clear enough to confirm identity.2006-09-21September 21 20062006-09-21A photograph of a standing figure in a flowing saffron-orange robe performing an aarti at night, holding a brass aarti lamp with a large flame in one hand and a brass vessel in the other. A white-draped table or bed stands to the right, with a brass kalasha and a tray of fruit on a patterned mat in the foreground.
