A bare arm wearing silver bangles reaches in from the upper right, holding a thread or sacred cord above the pot. The garland is layered with white jasmine strands, red rose petal garlands and yellow marigolds with green leaves. A gold bracelet is visible on the wrist, and a gold pendant with a small deity medallion hangs near the top right. The brown cloth beneath the garlands suggests a ceremonial garment. No face is visible. Only a single hand is visible, so the scene shows one person's hand in a Guru Purnima-style offering context.2013-07-22Close-up photo of a ritual arrangement: a turmeric-yellow coconut bound with dried palm-leaf strips and woven straw, set among green leaves and pink and yellow flowers. A hand with dark-painted nails reaches in from the upper right. Blurred orange-robed figures stand in the background. No clearly identifiable a person is visible in the frame.2018-05-29 +1 copiesA close photograph of a ritual offering in which a bare arm with gold bangles and a silver ring rests on a coconut set in a silver plate heaped with pink flowers, white jasmine-like blossoms and green leaves. A man's hand, wearing a black wristwatch, holds the plate from below. Behind, a woman in a red sari with a red bindi and a nose stud sits with hands folded in namaskar. A red and yellow flower garland hangs at the left edge, and a bright lamp glows in the background.2013-09-16Close-up photo of a ritual lingam or shivalinga being decorated with flowers in a temple setting. A man in a white dhoti and a red-brown beaded bracelet reaches toward a golden-toned lingam set on a silver-rimmed tray heaped with red roses, yellow roses, white flowers and green leaves. A bare-footed figure stands on a red floor at the left, and a person in a leopard-print and tiger-striped shawl sits at the right edge. The lingam and tray rest on a silver pedestal. No face is visible of the men shown, and no one is clearly identifiable as a person.2019-04-07April 20 20182018-04-20A close photograph of a homa or yagna fire at left with bright flames and rising smoke beside a metal vessel. At centre a kalasha-like vessel wrapped in yellow marigold garlands and red roses sits on a dark stone platform scattered with white rice or petals. A priest standing behind wears white dhoti with a striped multicoloured border and a gold waist ornament, and his hands are visible reaching toward the offering.2018-01-06A photo of a worship moment: a hand in a white dhoti with a yellow-and-blue border sprinkles red flower petals over a gilded bronze deity murti seated on a lotus-style base, adorned with yellow marigold and red rose garlands. A second hand holds a brass plate of red petals above. The metal base and surrounding ritual items are polished silver. The figure is a statue, not a physical person, and no one else is clearly visible.2018-03-02April 04 20182018-04-04December 02 20162016-12-02
