A photograph inside a plain whitewashed temple room showing a long-haired person in orange robes receiving a large garland of red and white flowers with green leaves, lowered over their head by a bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a red border. Another priest in a cream dhoti with a green-and-red shawl and a white forehead mark stands at right, and an orange-robed man with glasses and a grey beard stands at left, along with a man in orange and a figure in white with an orange-robed companion behind. A small framed picture hangs on the wall at top left.2008-07-29Indoor scene in a plain whitewashed temple room. A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a red border garlands a woman in a long orange sari with a red and white flower garland, offering the garland to her. A man in a white shirt stands behind them, and a younger man on the right in a yellow and green shawl and white dhoti, with white forehead marks, watches. Two bare-chested devotees stand at the lower edges. The woman in orange does not clearly match a person candidate; no ornate saffron robe, long swept hair or rudraksha cues are shown, so no in-person a person is identified.2008-07-29A photograph of a temple shrine area where a long-haired man in plain orange robes stands at the right, wearing a long garland of red roses, green leaves and yellow marigolds. Beside him a younger man in orange robes kneels and holds a brass lamp with a flame toward the shrine, while another man in orange stands behind. At the left edge, a man in a white shirt with a dark rudraksha mala and a bearded older man in white and orange hold a brass tray of white jasmine and orange flowers. Pink and white flower petals are scattered on the stone ledge, and a deity murti and a red-and-orange draped figure appear in the background. Several people are visible.2008-08-07September 23 20062006-09-23 +1 copiesAugust 06 20092009-08-06A photograph of a ritual scene at a temple. A person with long dark hair, wearing an orange-red garment and a thick garland of white jasmine and red flowers, bows forward with head lowered. Behind and above, a bare-chested priest in a cream-yellow cloth reaches over with a hand on the bowed head, while another seated priest with grey hair, a white tripundra on the forehead and rudraksha beads holds a brass tray with a small brass vessel and red-and-white offerings. Men in white dhotis and orange-clad attendants stand in the background, and a colourful striped mat lies on the floor. A framed picture of deities hangs on the wall behind. Visible people are the bowing figure, two priests, and several attendants.2009-07-13November 11 20082008-11-11A seated saffron-robed sannyasi with long dark hair, a white forehead mark and a rudraksha-style necklace sits on a patterned mat while a man in white dhoti kneels to place a long garland of red, white and green flowers across the lap. Nearby, a bearded man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits with hands pressed in anjali, and a young orange-clad devotee at left holds his palms together. Behind them, white-clad devotees with orange and yellow shawls stand in a line. Coconuts, bananas and a plastic water bottle lie on a tray in front, consistent with a puja offering. Watermarked-style archive credit omitted.2009-08-06December 25 20052005-12-25A photograph of a ritual reception in a plain room with peach walls and a tall decorative banner in the upper right. A man in a yellow shirt raises a hand, applying red kumkum or vibhuti to the forehead of a bare-chested shaven-headed priest in an orange-saffron dhoti. The priest wears a long red and green flower garland with yellow marigolds, and a red-and-orange shawl hangs over his shoulder. Beside him a man in a white shirt holds a silver tray with a white cloth, and a shaven priest in orange holds a gold ritual object. An older man in white clothes with an orange shawl stands in the foreground, and another man in a white shirt with a red lanyard stands at left. The garland and tray suggest a devotee greeting or a ritual honouring, but no specific festival is shown.2011-01-26August 06 20092009-08-06December 25 20052005-12-25
