Tall flames rise from burning wood at the center, with offerings of rice and red and orange flower petals scattered on the stone edges. A bare arm, wearing a bangle and a dark bead bracelet, holds a bundle of straw or grass over the fire, and a brass vessel sits behind it. Yellow marigold garlands blur in the background. No face is visible, and no one can be confidently identified as a person. The scene is a homa or yagna.2016-09-09April 14 20182018-04-14A close photograph of a homa fire pit with large flames rising from a wooden platform decorated with red and pink flower garlands. A metal ladle is held from above into the fire, and a brass bowl sits on the left. Yellow marigold flowers blur in the foreground and a figure in white clothing stands at the right edge. The photo appears to be from a fire ritual; no clearly identifiable person's face is visible.2016-09-09April 14 20182018-04-14November 02 20132013-11-02September 09 20162016-09-09August 07 20172017-08-07January 05 20182018-01-05A brick-lined fire pit blazes at the centre, flames rising from burning wood and offerings. Marigold and red flower petals are scattered over the bricks. Behind it, a partially visible person in white dhoti and a wristwatch reaches toward the fire, holding an object. On the right stands a low table draped with a yellow and red floral cloth, bearing green coconuts, an orange fruit, and a brass plate of offerings. Striped cloths cover the floor on the left, with a bowl of grains at the lower left. This appears to be a homa or yagna fire ritual.2017-06-23
