A seated person in white clothes with a red-orange shawl draped over the shoulders reaches toward the fire with a hand, with a metal bowl and small offerings near the pit. A second person in white stands partly visible at the right edge. The rest of the background is in darkness.August 09 20102010-08-09November 22 20062006-11-22A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night, with bright orange flames burning in the foreground. Behind the fire, a figure with long dark hair and an orange-saffron robe sits cross-legged, gazing toward the flames, with a wooden implement or ladle resting near the fire. The background is dim and smoky. This appears to be a homa/yagna ritual preparation, and the robed figure, described by appearance as a probable Swamiji (probable) with long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, is seated in person beside the sacred fire.2008-05-18A night-time outdoor fire ritual. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand around it with their hands pressed together in namaskar. The man in the foreground bends forward at the waist, hands folded, facing the fire. Behind them, a floral arrangement of yellow and white marigold-style garlands decorates a raised structure. One man in a checked shirt and green cap stands with palms joined, and a man in a white shirt with a saffron-coloured shawl stands by the flowers. Standing people in white and red clothing stand behind him, and a brass vessel and oil lamp sit near the front edge.December 17 20062006-12-17November 22 20062006-11-22
