Photo 11684496A night photograph of a homa fire burning in a brick-lined fire pit on the left, its tall orange flames lighting a dark outdoor setting. A seated person in white clothes with a red-orange shawl draped over the shoulders reaches toward the fire with a hand, with a metal bowl and small offerings near the pit. A second person in white stands partly visible at the right edge. The rest of the background is in darkness.A two-panel photo collage. The left panel shows a large open fire burning on bare ground with a small white-clad figure standing beside it. Both panels appear outdoors.2010-07-11December 20 20132013-12-20 +1 copiesA collage-style graphic with a central photograph of a shaved-headed man in saffron/orange robes seated cross-legged on an orange cushion, hands pressed together in anjali mudra, eyes closed. Behind him another saffron-clad figure sits and a third person in light clothing sits further back. Fiery glowing embers and burning coals fill the left and right side panels. The man in the centre is a devotee or sannyasi and his identity is not established from appearance, so no a person candidate is claimed. The image is a graphic composite with a faint website credit in the corner.2010-08-05January 28 20152015-01-28Two side-by-side photographs of an outdoor fire ritual at night. A large fire burns in a wooden-framed pit in the foreground, with a bowl or basket of offerings and a wide brass or woven vessel nearby. Several people in white ritual clothing stand around the fire; a man in white with a white turban and a shawl holds an offering over the flames, and a bare-chested person stands beside him. Strings of marigold garlands hang on tall posts with lights above, and a row of attendants in white watches from the background. A seated devotee in white sits near the bottom right of the right panel. The scene is a homa or yagna with fire offerings.2010-10-16 +1 copiesDecember 14 20122012-12-14A young priest in a white dhoti and white shirt with a red cloth draped over his shoulder kneels at a brick fire pit during a homa. Standing people in white and red clothing stand behind him, and a brass vessel and oil lamp sit near the front edge.July 24 20102010-07-24 +2 copiesA photograph of a homa fire ritual. A figure in saffron-orange robes sits behind a rectangular brick fire pit with a tall flame rising from it, hands raised in prayer near the face. Pink and red flower petals and green leaves decorate the stone-edged pit, and brass vessels and a small offering dish sit to the right. The figure's orange robes and beaded necklace are visible, but the face is not clearly shown, so identity is uncertain.2007-09-17A night-time photograph of an outdoor fire ritual. A large open flame rises from a fire pit at right, with offerings in brass bowls and plates of fruit in the foreground. A woman in orange and red garments with a rudraksha-style bead necklace sits cross-legged beside the fire. Several seated figures in white clothing are around the fire, one with his hands together at left. A small decorated altar or chair stands at right, and tents are visible in the background.
