A tall gold-coloured ceremonial pillar with red flags stands in front of an ornate carved wooden shrine facade with latticed windows. Two tall golden poles with red pennants and striped fabric banners flank it. A golden lion-like guardian figure sits to the right beside a small wooden bench. A white-draped table holds offerings. Several people walk and work around the site, including a man on a ladder at upper left wearing white dhoti and a few men in white dhoti and shirts. On the left, a man in white dhoti and an orange-saffron shawl walks past carrying a white cloth or item. On the right, a woman in a white sari with gold border stands with hands folded in prayer beside the shrine. Dirt mounds, bricks and construction material lie around the site under a clear blue sky with trees behind.2006-12-26December 19 20222022-12-19April 27 20162016-04-27Dusk photograph of an ornate golden gateway-style shrine structure decorated with white jasmine-style garlands and red flower strands draped across its beams. Two red pennant flags rise from the roof corners, and a carved deity panel sits in the arched pediment above. In the foreground a single person seen from behind, with long dark hair and dark clothing, stands facing the shrine, silhouetted against the deep blue evening sky. Overhead power lines cross the scene.2006-09-23Dusk photograph of a decorated festival shrine (palanquin-style canopy) at a temple-like setting with a dark blue evening sky behind it. Two deity murtis stand under the canopy, one silver-white with a gold crown and garlands, one with a red garland and ornaments, both draped with flower garlands of red and yellow blossoms and white jasmine strings. A yellow-lit wall and a golden wheel motif decorate the sides. In the left foreground a person in dark clothing bows or prostrates toward the deities, seen only in silhouette and partial profile.2006-09-23Night photograph of a golden ratha chariot shrine decorated with multicoloured garlands of marigold and striped fabric, with illuminated golden arches and a golden standing deity figure on the left. Several men in white dhotis and orange-saffron cloths work at the chariot, one in white lifting a rope or pole and another in orange robes with a shaved head climbing the platform. A green leafy branch is tied to the shrine and an industrial metal frame rises at right. Given the chariot and night setting this appears to be a temple procession preparation, but no person is clearly identifiable as a person by visible cues.2013-12-24November 28 20222022-11-28May 14 20142014-05-14
