Outdoor ritual under a open-sided thatched canopy of wooden poles and palm fronds. In the foreground a woman in a white sari with a gold border sits cross-legged before a fire pit built from stacked white blocks, holding a small object in her hands and wearing a red rudraksha-style bead necklace. Behind her on the left, a man in white clothes sits beside a row of white-painted brick blocks and small offering pots. Further back, rows of seated devotees, several in orange and red saris, watch the proceedings. Brass bowls, a brass lamp and small clay pots with green leaves rest on the ground in front of the fire pit, consistent with a homa or puja setup.

Outdoor homa ceremony at a brick fire pit ringed with yellow and orange marigolds and red flowers, with a small flame burning in the centre. Two men in white dhotis and yellow shawls sit at the fire, one in the foreground placing offerings into the fire with his right hand, the other beside him holding a rudraksha mala. Behind them a seated woman in white and other devotees sit on the ground beneath a red draped canopy decorated with banana plants. Bananas and fruit plates rest on the left, and a brass vessel sits by the fire. No candidate for a person is clearly identifiable by appearance, so the seated figures are described by role only.

Outdoor homa at a brick fire pit on bare earth, with a fire burning inside a white-brick square decorated with yellow flowers. Two men in white dhotis and white shirts with yellow shawls sit before the fire; the man in front holds a ladle and pours offerings. Behind them, a row of white-clad women and men sit on the ground, some holding brass items and a dhoop-like object. Brass plates of offerings, fruit and red-wrapped packets lie to the left, and on the right a tiered display of coconuts in woven baskets rests among potted green plants. Spectators in saris and white clothing fill the background. The people in the foreground are priests or devotees; no person is identified as a person.

In the foreground, several women in white dhotis or saris with orange shawls sit on mats behind small brick fire pits, each with brass bowls, a brass plate with orange kumkum, and incense sticks. Behind them, a large crowd of seated devotees fills the open ground, with some wearing white and others in colourful garments under the tent canopy.

A photograph of a homa or yagna ceremony held under a tarpaulin canopy with a rocky hillside behind. Seated devotees in white clothes, many with orange sashes, sit on mats in rows before brick fire pits. A woman in a white sari with gold border sits in the foreground with her head bowed, and brass bowls, kalasha-style vessels, flower petals and offerings sit on banana-leaf plates. Smoke rises from the fire at the back, near a decorated shrine canopy with a deity murti and a priest in white standing at the altar.
