Dozens of devotees sit on mats in white clothes, many in white kurtas and dhotis, some women in saris or salwars, a few in darker or striped garments, facing a raised platform. On the platform stands a decorated deity murti or altar draped in garlands and flowers, with a small fire or oil lamp burning in front and a pile of offerings nearby. A few people in white stand near the platform and a camera on a tripod records the scene. Dappled sunlight filters through the leaves.2005-01-24Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with spreading aerial roots and branches. On a raised wooden platform, a seated figure in saffron-orange robes sits on an orange-draped seat under a decorated umbrella with colourful fringe, flanked by ritual brass lamps and flower garlands. Nearby, several people in white ritual clothes sit on the platform and ground, and a woman in an orange sari tends brass items. A sculpted rock with a painted serpent-like form and pink flower offerings lies in the foreground. Several people are visible seated under the tree, with a woman in a teal blouse and white dhoti-style cloth at left.2005-07-21Photo 11711473February 05 20162016-02-05Photo 11705789Photo 11734722Outdoor ritual gathering on bare earth beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots.
