Outdoor procession under a woven palm-thatch canopy at Pattanam. In the centre, a sannyasi in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban walks along a red carpet, wearing a white flower garland and holding his hands together in greeting; the figure is a probable Swamiji by appearance, with a visible orange turban and saffron robes, serving as the honoured guest. Beside and before him, a bearded man in orange robes with glasses walks at the left, touching his forehead. Around them stand men in white dhotis and white shirts, some wearing rudraksha malas, and a man in a light peach shirt at right. A printed banner reading PATTANAM hangs in the background and a white-walled building stands at left.2008-07-28July 28 20082008-07-28Photograph of a procession through a covered walkway in a village setting, with a red carpet underfoot. At the centre, a man in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a white and red flower garland stands smiling, hands at his sides. The page places a person at this event, but the figure's appearance is only partially distinctive, so identity is uncertain. Beside him, a bearded man in an orange dhoti and shawl stands next to an older man in white. Devotees in white dhotis and shirts line the path, some with folded hands, and a woman in a white sari with orange border stands at left. Men in red kurtas carry items at right, and a green-framed doorway and blue wall with floral garlands appear at left.2008-07-28 +1 copiesJuly 28 20082008-07-28A photograph of a procession on a red carpet inside a decorated pandal lined with purple draped fabric and hanging banana leaves and garlands. Beside him, an elderly figure in a light orange shawl walks, and a man in an orange shawl with a gold necklace stands behind. To the right, a bearded man in a deep orange-and-maroon robe with a gold necklace faces them. Young men in white dhotis and shirts with orange sashes line both sides, and a gilded shrine with decorations stands in the background.2007-12-30July 28 20082008-07-28 +1 copiesDecember 11 20112011-12-11A photograph of a central figure in a saffron-orange robe with a white and green garland around the neck, walking barefoot along a red carpet under a pink arched entrance. He presses his palms together in greeting. Beside him walks a woman in a cream sari with a pink border and a second saffron-robed attendant with long hair. Men in white dhotis and white shirts line both sides of the carpet, several with palms joined in greeting, and a man in a white shirt and dhoti walks alongside. Hanging potted plants and green trees appear behind the arch, with a gold bird-shaped object at the lower left edge. The central figure's appearance shows several cues: long swept-back hair, a saffron robe and a garland, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji, so he is a probable Swamiji (probable) receiving a welcome.2010-02-16A photograph of a covered entrance walkway at an ashram, with a central figure in an orange-saffron robe and a red-and-white flower garland walking along an orange carpet runner. Nearby devotees in white dhotis and a yellow shawl, one in an orange robe, and a woman in a light blue sari with red flowers stand with palms pressed together in greeting. A bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala and an elderly man in white ritual clothes also appear. Potted plants, pink walls and iron gates surround the scene. Visible text reads a copyright notice and source line. Eight people are visible.2010-01-22July 28 20082008-07-28A photograph of an outdoor temple-style event under a dark canopy decorated with yellow and orange marigold garlands and hanging bananas and coconuts. A man in the centre wears a saffron-orange robe, a long red-and-white flower garland and a gold necklace, and looks upward. Swamiji (probable) in the centre, distinguished by the long hair, saffron robe and ceremonial gold necklace. Around him, two saffron-robed attendants with long hair and red-banded clothing stand nearby, and several men in white dhotis and shirts with lanyards and tilak marks surround the procession. One attendant on the left wears orange with a red shawl. A trident-shaped object and a red-and-gold canopy appear in the background. Several men carry metal trays. A young child in blue stands at the left edge.2010-01-02 +1 copiesDecember 31 20092009-12-31
