July 28 20082008-07-28Photograph of a procession through a covered walkway in a village setting, with a red carpet underfoot. At the centre, a man in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a white and red flower garland stands smiling, hands at his sides. The page places a person at this event, but the figure's appearance is only partially distinctive, so identity is uncertain. Beside him, a bearded man in an orange dhoti and shawl stands next to an older man in white. Devotees in white dhotis and shirts line the path, some with folded hands, and a woman in a white sari with orange border stands at left. Men in red kurtas carry items at right, and a green-framed doorway and blue wall with floral garlands appear at left.2008-07-28 +1 copiesJuly 28 20082008-07-28Outdoor photo at a temple-style compound with palm trees and orange-roofed buildings. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron shawl and a dark rudraksha mala, standing with hands folded near his waist. Behind him, a man with a shaved head and white horizontal tilak marks, wearing white dhoti and a white shawl with a red border, walks beside him. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand or walk in the background, some with hands joined. An orange canopy hangs at the left edge and a black speaker sits at right. At centre, a man with long swept-back hair wears an orange saffron shawl and a heavy gold necklace, appearing to be a Swamiji (probable) by his long hair, saffron clothing and gold ceremonial necklace. Beside him, a man in white holds a tall wooden pole with an orange flag, and several people in white dhotis and orange shawls, some wearing rudraksha malas, walk nearby. A woman in a white sari and an older bald man in white shirt and dhoti are also in the procession.2006-12-23June 05 20112011-06-05A photograph of an outdoor ashram gathering under a tin-roofed shelter with palm trees, draped red-and-maroon fabric and a purple tent with white diamond trim behind it. In the foreground a bearded man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl and a rudraksha-style mala stands at left. Centre, a long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe wears a white and red flower garland and walks with hands clasped. Beside him an older man in white robes with an orange shawl walks forward. Behind them a crowd of devotees in white, orange and checked shirts, including children and women in white saris, stands among tall pillars and a decorated altar area.2006-12-26Outdoor procession on a dirt path shaded by palm and leafy trees at dusk. Around him, devotees in white kurtas and white dhotis walk barefoot, several wearing rudraksha malas; one man in a white polo shirt also wears a rudraksha mala and an ID badge, and a bald man in white walks at the far left. Roughly ten to fifteen people are visible in the frame.2005-12-31November 24 20062006-11-24Outdoor procession under a corrugated metal canopy with palm trees and a tall red-and-gold pillar behind. A central figure in long flowing orange-saffron robes walks with hands folded, wearing a rudraksha mala, and is flanked by men in saffron-and-maroon robes with orange shawls and rudraksha malas. Several people in white dhotis and white shirts walk nearby, and a man at left wears a white head cloth and white dhoti holding a microphone. A decorated flower vase sits on a draped table at left. On the right, a bearded bare-chested man wears a white cloth and malas beside a woman in maroon robes with a red turban. Some people wear yellow and white garments in the background. a person cues: a central figure in saffron robes with a rudraksha mala, walking in procession.2015-01-13A photograph of a crowded outdoor pandal with a thatched palm-leaf roof and bamboo poles, decorated with marigold garlands and strings of colourful bunting. A red carpet runs down the centre. In the middle, a young man in a saffron-orange robe stands wearing a long white-and-orange flower garland, with a dark shawl or wrap over his shoulders and a black-beaded mala; his hair is short and he is not wearing a crown or turban. Flanking him, several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with rudraksha-style malas, stand in two lines and gesture or stand at attention. Behind them, a large crowd of seated and standing devotees, many women in saris and older people with hands folded, watches on both sides, with children at the right edge. The setting suggests a ceremonial welcome or procession at a rural temple area with a small blue-walled building behind.2009-11-25
