August 27 20182018-08-27A priest in orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with a bare torso and rudraksha mala, stands at left pouring or lifting a vessel over a golden deity setup. Three deity murtis sit on a golden ratha-style vahana or throne with red cloth draped over its base: a central figure in a crown with a green and gold garment, flanked by two figures in red and gold-trimmed garments with floral garlands. Hanging bells, gold pillars, and tassels in red, green, yellow and purple decorate the temple hall. A small metal pot and a seated attendant appear at lower right. Behind him stand large painted deity murti with crowns and trident, one in red and gold garments, flanked by two standing figures in blue and maroon robes with rudraksha malas. He wears white sacred markings on his bare chest and arms. Behind him stand large golden deity murtis in gold crowns and garlands, one with a cobra hood over a linga, the central figure holding a trident-like staff. Flanking statues wear garlands of white flowers in yellow, red and orange, with a red-and-gold attire on the right figure. Gold arched frames inlaid with blue and colourful stones surround the shrine. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam at the altar. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance.2021-06-20December 28 20122012-12-28Photo of a ceremonial puja before a golden gilded deity murti seated on a golden throne with a decorated canopy and blue embroidered backdrop.
