April 15 20082008-04-15April 15 20082008-04-15Night-time outdoor photo on bare ground beside a dark tree. A bearded man in a long-sleeved white shirt and white dhoti kneels on the ground, handling a white cloth. Seated on a folding chair in front is a figure with long dark hair wearing a saffron-orange robe, smiling, with bare feet. Behind them, five people stand in a loose group: a woman in a beige salwar with an orange-patterned shawl, and four men in white shirts and dark trousers, several wearing necklaces. On the far right an older man in a white shirt and white dhoti with a white shawl smiles. A red-and-white checked bag and a small container sit on the ground beside the chair.2008-11-13November 13 20082008-11-13April 15 20082008-04-15December 09 20062006-12-09December 20 20062006-12-20Night photograph of a temple foundation excavation site with reddish-brown earth, rebar cages standing in a trench, and a small dug pit with concrete at the bottom. About ten men in white dhotis and white shirts, many with orange shawls, stand around the pit. A central figure wears an orange-saffron cloth wrap and an orange head covering, gesturing toward the work, while another person in a red-orange robe stands behind him. Dark night sky with distant lights, and a rope line runs along the trench.2006-12-09Night photograph at an outdoor construction site with a dark background and a low wall behind. In the centre a man with long, swept-back dark hair and a vertical tilak on his forehead wears an orange saffron shawl over bare shoulders and an orange cloth wrap, standing with hands folded and eyes closed. Beside him, men in white dhotis and orange shawls stand with a red bag and a folded orange cloth. Several other people in white stand in the background near a blue barrel. Exposed rebar and a white hose lie on the ground in the foreground.2006-12-10Outdoor evening scene on sandy ground at a festival, with a seated figure in orange saffron robes and bare feet on a folding chair beside a small table holding a tray of offerings. A bald man in a white dhoti and white shirt bends forward with his hands on a striped mat, bowing toward the seated figure, while others in white dhotis and orange shawls stand nearby. Several people in white and light clothing stand in the background among stalls and banners. The seated figure's appearance is uncertain and only a role is given: a seated devotee-receiving figure in saffron. Four or more physical people are prominent.2011-01-16A photograph taken at night outdoors of a ritual space with a circular area of sand or ash containing a shallow pattern and a small object. A man in white dhoti and shirt stands bent forward at the left, hands joined near his chest. Two men in saffron-orange cloth stand at the centre and right; the right figure wears a saffron wrap over his shoulders, a long rudraksha-style bead mala, and stands with hands clasped behind his back. Another man in a light shirt is partly visible behind them, and a green banner and dark trees fill the background.2007-02-10Night-time outdoor photo at a ritual site on bare ground strewn with straw. A row of people stands in the foreground. On the left, a man in a striped shirt stands with arms folded beside a man in white dhoti and shirt. At centre, a figure in a bright orange-red saffron wrap and rudraksha mala stands with hands together, and a man in orange robes and a mala stands beside him. On the right, a bare-chested man in a white dhoti holds a tray or vessel and another man in orange with a rudraksha mala stands nearby. Several people in white clothes stand behind them under a strip of multicoloured prayer flags. Bright flash glare sits on the centre.2011-01-14
