Photograph taken from below against bright sunlight showing a person in orange saffron clothing with a gold bead necklace, reaching up with a bangle-wearing arm to grasp a tall pole wrapped in white cloth and dried straw, possibly part of a dhwaja stambha preparation at a temple. Sun flare fills the upper left. Only one person is visible.2006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29 +1 copiesPhotograph taken from below of a figure in orange saffron robes and a long gold necklace, standing beside a tall copper-toned pillar wrapped in dry straw and white cloth, with a band of yellow marigold garlands at its base. The figure's long dark hair falls back, and the figure raises one arm toward the top of the pillar, which is bathed in bright sunlight and lens flare against a white sky. The pillar appears to be a dhwaja stambha being prepared for a temple ceremony.2006-09-29A photograph taken from below of a bare-chested man in an orange cloth wrapped at the waist, wearing a heavy gold necklace of beads and a gold bangle on his wrist. He has long, dark, swept-back hair and is hugging a tall copper-capped pole wrapped in straw and white cloth against a bright sky.2006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29January 04 20152015-01-04December 11 20112011-12-11 +1 copiesA photograph taken from a low angle of a person in orange saffron robes and a gold-bead necklace pulling on an orange rope that hoists a large saffron flag with a white panel and a gold emblem. Dry palm fronds are tied to the top of the flag and the rope. Palm trees and a temple tower with carved stone are visible at the edge of the frame against a pale sky. The person wears a white forehead band, a rudraksha mala, and gold bangles, and looks upward toward the flag.2013-02-28A man in an orange saffron shawl and bare upper body stands beside a carved wooden shrine structure topped with a bundle of dried straw or grass tied with orange rope. He reaches up with both arms to adjust or press the straw bundle, which is strung with white and purple flower garlands down the sides of the shrine. His hair is tied up in a knot, with a rudraksha-style necklace and bangle bracelets. The shrine has ornate carved panels and a small figure at its base. Bright sky and palm fronds fill the background.2011-12-10April 10 20162016-04-10Photograph of a smiling person with long, dark, swept-back hair and a red bindi, wearing an orange-saffron shawl draped over one shoulder and heavy gold ornaments: a long gold necklace with a large pendant and a gold bangle. The person is wrapping a white cloth around a tall copper-coloured pot topped with bundled dry straw, a ceremonial kalasha-type form, with yellow flowers at its base. White temple architecture with carved details rises behind. The appearance-based cues of long hair, saffron clothing and gold ornaments match the Swamiji candidate named on the page, so this is labelled Swamiji (probable) performing the dhwajastambha preparation.2006-09-29December 23 20062006-12-23
