A long-haired man in saffron-orange cloth and a red-and-yellow marigold garland reaches up to steady the pole's top. A second man in orange cloth stands at left, arm raised toward it, and a saffron umbrella is visible at lower left. Tall coconut palms and a pale evening sky fill the background.2016-10-03Photograph taken from below of a tall copper-coloured ceremonial column or dhwajasthamba topped with a small lantern-like finial and a hanging ribbon. A figure seen from behind wears a rust-red robe with a gold border and a long dark dreadlock-style hair falling down the back, with a garland of yellow, orange and green flowers across the head. Three people in orange-saffron robes with gold borders stand on a carved stone base, attending a tall copper cylindrical pillar wrapped with a bundle of dry straw and tied with cord. The figure in front has long dark matted dreadlocks and a rudraksha mala at the neck, and is shown from behind. Others on the left work with green leaves and hanging white and yellow flower garlands. Red and orange hanging decorations and a red umbrella-like canopy fill the background, with greenery beyond.2016-08-27A photograph of a long-haired man in a rust-orange dhoti and a red-and-gold turban, draped in a pink and white floral garland, standing at right of a tall ornate copper kalasha-shaped vessel decorated with yellow and red flower garlands, green leaves and a white cloth wrap, topped with bundled dried grass. Behind him, a second man in orange cloth and bare-torso devotees stand under a canopy hung with colourful streamers, string lights and a painted banner. The bearded man is a sannyasi-style ritual participant; the page indicates this is a person Jayanthi Brahmotsavam event, but his appearance is not sufficiently distinctive to confirm identity.2016-12-14April 23 20122012-04-23Photograph of a flag-hoisting ritual outdoors under a pale sky with coconut palms behind. A man with long dark hair, wearing a sleeveless saffron-orange top, a saffron-orange wrap draped over his shoulder, and a dark rudraksha mala, pulls a pink rope that runs up a tall polished copper flagstaff. The staff has ornate bands, a wrapped rope collar, and a carved stone base decorated with white jasmine garlands, a bundle of straw-like brooms and yellow flowers at its foot. Another person in orange clothing stands at the left edge holding the rope.2010-07-01September 27 20172017-09-27April 23 20122012-04-23A photograph of a dvajarohanam flag-hoisting ritual at an outdoor temple pavilion with a corrugated roof and string lights. In the foreground a man with long dark dreadlocks wears a rust-brown dhoti-style cloth, a rust-red turban, a red and white flower garland draped over his shoulder, and gold armlets; he stands with hands folded in front of a tall ornate bronze-and-copper pole wrapped with white cloth, bundles of straw, green leaves and yellow and magenta flower garlands. Partly visible at left, another man in orange cloth stands nearby. Colourful hanging banners with geometric patterns decorate the right side. The scene suggests a temple flag-hoisting rite, shown as a Swamiji (probable) candidate in appearance-based terms given his long hair, turban and ornate clothing.2016-12-14April 14 20132013-04-14 +1 copies
