A photograph of a seated man with long, swept-back dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead, wearing a loose orange robe, sitting cross-legged with eyes closed on a raised pale stone slab in a stone-walled sanctum-like space. A second person in orange, bent forward with dark hair, touches the slab near his legs, and a small pale object rests on the platform. Behind them, two standing men in white dhotis and shirts watch, one wearing a rudraksha mala and gold necklace, another holding a wooden rod, with a wooden ladder against the wall. The setting suggests a temple garbha consecration ritual.2006-12-11Close photograph of a seated man with long, dark, wavy hair wearing a loose orange-saffron wrap over his shoulders and torso. He has a red bindi-style mark on his forehead, eyes lowered and a slight smile, hands folded in his lap. Behind him is a rough stone or brick wall with a wooden plank leaning against it. Appearance-based label: Swamiji (probable), seated in orange robes with long hair and a forehead mark, shown as a person in front of a stone wall.2006-12-11A photograph taken from above of a seated man in orange robes and long dark hair, kneeling on a flat grey stone slab inside a dim, unfinished sanctum. He holds a brass lamp with a bright flame and an orange-brown bowl, with a small brass vessel below, while his hands are cupped near the flame. Surrounding him are standing people in white dhotis and white garments with red borders, some with orange sashes, and a man in white holding a brass horn-shaped instrument on the left. A small patterned mat lies behind him, and bamboo poles are visible at the top.
