A bare-chested man with long dreadlocked hair, rudraksha malas, a gold necklace and white vibhuti marks on his arms and forehead wears a white dhoti with gold border and holds a large woven gold-yellow basket. Beside him an attendant in orange robes and an orange turban, also with rudraksha malas and white markings, helps lift the basket. Strings of red, yellow and white flower garlands hang from a chain-suspended frame behind them, with gold cloth bundles below and a red curtain and deity murti in the background. The scene suggests a traditional offering or weighing ritual.2017-08-15August 12 20172017-08-12 +1 copiesJuly 19 20162016-07-19August 13 20172017-08-13 +1 copiesAugust 16 20172017-08-16 +1 copiesAugust 13 20172017-08-13 +1 copiesMay 24 20162016-05-24A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a green and gold silk sash and a yellow headcloth bends over a gold-decorated peetha adorned with garlands of white jasmine, red roses and yellow marigolds. He holds a brass lamp with a flame, pouring or lighting oil over a brass dish. Lit oil lamps, banana leaves, fruit, a brass vessel and a kalasha sit around the altar, with a striped woven mat on the floor. Other men in white dhotis and gold chains stand behind, with a figure in saffron clothing at the back. The scene appears to be a puja or aarti at a temple-style altar.2017-04-06April 06 20172017-04-06A photograph of a temple-style ceremony on a stage. A man in a white dhoti and cream-and-gold turban, with white jasmine garlands and red flower garlands, stands and places his hand on a small brass or silver figure held up before him. Below him, a second man in a white dhoti and white head wrap kneels on a yellow stone block, bending forward with his hands joined. Behind them, a shaved-head man in a rust-coloured dhoti with a rudraksha mala looks on from the right. The background has a golden arched frame and a deity murti decorated with garlands in red, yellow and green, draped in purple cloth. A padapuja-style offering or abhishekam-type ritual appears to be in progress.2012-04-23 +2 copies
