A photograph of a temple ritual before richly decorated deity murtis seated on a red-draped platform. A person in a long orange-red robe with long dark hair stands bent forward, hands extended and adorned with gold bangles, offering or adorning a central figure draped in yellow, orange and red garlands with pearl strands. To the left, a man in white dhoti and shawl with orange-red border holds a brass tray with a lamp and garland. Behind, two colourful deity figures in red and gold with crowns and gold jewellery sit, and small white figures are placed in the foreground. Brass lamps stand on the right beneath tall garlands of yellow, red, green and purple flowers.

Photo of a temple ritual in a gilded shrine. In the left foreground a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl, bare-chested with a gold chain, sits and pours liquid from a silver vessel toward a central figure. The central figure is a seated statue in saffron-orange robes, an orange turban, a beaded necklace and a garland of yellow and red flowers. Behind it stand a tall golden deity murti with a red cloth backdrop, a yellow and red flower garland hung with large yellow beads, and a white draped cloth on the right. Brass lamps, silver bowls and a metal tray with flowers sit on the altar in front.

A photograph of a temple shrine scene. In the foreground, a man with hair tied in a bun wears an orange sleeveless top and a red-orange shawl draped over his shoulder. He holds up a sheet of white paper with one hand, reading or reciting from it. Beside him stands a brass lamp stand and a small brass vessel on a stone ledge, with a green cloth and a tray of red and orange flowers. To the right sits a deity murti or statue draped in orange cloth with a red turban, adorned with gold ornaments and a red-and-yellow flower garland. Green foliage and a red-and-orange temple wall form the background, with a tall brass lamp stand near the centre. The scene suggests a ritual recitation at a shrine.

A man with long, voluminous dark curly hair and a full beard, wearing a sleeveless saffron-orange robe, leans forward to offer something from a small plate onto a black stone Shiva linga resting on a black pedestal, with scattered gold grains around its base. Behind the linga stands a gilded deity murti draped in a red and gold sari-like garment and garlanded with yellow, orange and magenta flowers. To the left, a second man in a saffron-orange robe with a gold-beaded necklace stands with palms pressed together in namaskar. A small white marble seated figure sits in front of the pedestal, and a brass oil lamp stands at the right edge beside a small brass vessel.

A temple priest in a rust-orange dhoti with a yellow-bordered cloth over the shoulder and a rudraksha mala stands at a shrine, pouring liquid from a small vessel onto a dark black shivalinga. The lingam is draped in a white and red-yellow flower garland. Behind him, a golden deity figure with a raised hand and a red-and-gold saree-clad deity stand against walls of marigold, rose and white flower garlands and gold chain strings. A red cloth and a gold-ornamented altar frame the scene. This is an abhishekam being performed at a Shiva shrine.
