A night photograph of a crowd gathered on a street in front of a parked white van and roadside stalls with string lights. Many women in saris in pink, purple, blue, yellow and red stand close together, several with white and vertical tilak marks on their foreheads. A man in a yellow checked shirt and a young man in a striped shirt holding a small camera stand among them, and a few men in white dhotis move in the background. Some hands are folded in prayer. The scene suggests a public gathering or procession.
