A carved, cream-coloured ratha or chariot frame with floral and scrollwork relief carries a large framed portrait of a man with white hair and a white turban, shown in profile looking upward; the portrait is a printed image, not a physical person. Below it, a vehicle windscreen is visible inside the carved frame. Crowds of mostly men in white dhotis and shirts walk around the chariot. Behind them stands a temple gateway with painted stone deities on the roof, a bright blue-and-white kalasha-style finial, and shop signs and banners along the lane.2006-10-24April 29 20182018-04-29Night photograph in a temple courtyard lit by rows of oil lamps and electric lights along the walls and gopuram. A group of about twelve men and a few women walk across the stone-paved yard, many with palms pressed together in anjali. Several wear white dhotis and shirts, one wears a white dhoti with an orange shawl and a red rosette badge, and a woman in an orange sari stands at centre with hands folded. A small ornate shrine pavilion with a kalasha-topped roof stands behind them, with a lamp-lit temple structure on the right.2006-12-04October 26 20062006-10-26Night photograph of a crowd of devotees walking toward a brightly lit, ornate temple gateway or shrine entrance with carved pillars and glowing lights. In the foreground, men wear white shirts and white dhotis, one man on the right carries a cloth bag, and a man on the left wears a plaid checked shirt; others wear white and blue clothing. Tall trees frame the dark sky above the bright gate.2006-10-24September 23 20122012-09-23
