A long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes walks at right, holding a folded orange cloth in one hand. Several men in white ritual clothes sit or crouch around the smouldering fire pit, and another in white stands behind them. A white and red striped ceremonial umbrella stands at left, with coconut palms and a green-roofed building behind. The clothing and setting suggest a fire ritual in progress.2006-11-21June 13 20102010-06-13July 11 20102010-07-11Outdoor photo of a palm-lined temple grounds under bright sky. Many people sit in rows on small raised square fire pits or earthen mounds, some wearing saffron/orange robes and others white dhotis and shirts. Two standing figures in white clothing walk among them. Smoke rises at the right. In the right foreground, a person with long dark hair and an orange garment sits on a cushion with a microphone stand nearby, with a leafy branch in front of the frame. A red-and-white striped boundary wall and a water tank appear in the background beside dense green trees.2006-08-18Outdoor fire ritual on a dirt ground in front of low tiled buildings and palm trees. A fire burns in a shallow pit, with a man in an orange robe seated at the centre pouring offerings. Around him, men in white dhotis with yellow sashes sit on the ground, one holding a brass vessel to the fire. A crowd of onlookers in white and light clothing stands behind, and several photographers and a video camera operator film the scene at the right beside a red-and-white striped platform. Smoke drifts across the frame.2010-06-13October 09 20082008-10-09June 18 20102010-06-18An outdoor courtyard of a temple-style ashram with coconut palms behind it. Several rows of people in white clothes sit on a sandy ground across circular stone-rimmed fire pits, with smoke rising from them. Around a dozen men in white dhotis and shirts sit cross-legged in the pits' area, some in yellow or saffron-coloured cloths, while a larger group of seated devotees in white and grey clothes watches from mats and chairs in the foreground. A small child in red sits among them. A white-and-red striped platform lies at left, and a line of small stone figures stands near a white building at the back. This appears to be a homa or fire ritual.2010-07-07
