July 20 20102010-07-20A photograph of devotees at a large banyan tree with thick, twisting aerial roots. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and white trousers, with a gold bracelet, leans forward with one hand pressed against the tree trunk, head bowed in reverence. Behind him a younger man in a white shirt stands with his head lowered, and another man in a light blue shirt and grey trousers stands near the edge. Further back a figure in a white t-shirt and grey trousers is partly visible. The ground is reddish earth with a white kolam drawn on a low stone platform. Garlands of red, yellow and purple flowers hang at the right edge of the frame.A photograph of a figure in a white and gold-bordered garment leaning forward with their forehead pressed against a large banyan tree trunk in an outdoor setting. The figure has long dark hair, wears a white flower garland with red blossoms, and holds one hand against the bark. Orange marigold garlands are strung across the trunk and branches, with a sandy ground and a low white wall behind. This appears to be a devotional gesture of reverence toward the sacred tree. The person is the only one visible, and the figure's identity is not established by visible evidence alone.2010-01-01January 04 20152015-01-04A person in white ritual dress with a gold-bordered white shawl and a white flower garland with red beads leans forward and presses their forehead against the trunk of a large banyan tree. A white painted triangle is on the ground at lower left, and a faint circular logo appears at the bottom left corner. Sunlight and tree shadows fall across the scene.2006-12-29December 31 20092009-12-31A large old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches dominates the frame. A man stands at right with his back to the camera, bare-chested, long dark hair, wearing a white dhoti with a gold border and a white shawl over one shoulder, scattering yellow petals or grains toward the tree. A small blue sign reads 'DO NOT SHOW THIS TREE' near the base. The setting is an outdoor compound with trees and a brick wall in the background.2011-01-01April 09 20122012-04-09November 24 20112011-11-24 +3 copiesJanuary 01 20052005-01-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and thick grey trunks, set in an open earthen yard with a low white-edged stone platform.
