December 02 20162016-12-02A golden statue of a standing saint in a green and gold turban and green dhoti with gold border is decorated with white and red flower garlands and a jewelled ornamental necklace. The raised right hand shows an abhaya gesture, and the left hand hangs at the side. Two brass oil lamps with lit flames stand in the foreground, and a richly decorated deity or throne with layered flower garlands and embroidered red, purple and gold fabric sits to the right, with rose petals on the yellow cloth below. The setting is a stone temple shrine with carved pillars.2016-12-19May 26 20132013-05-26December 17 20162016-12-17December 17 20162016-12-17May 27 20132013-05-27A life-sized sculpted figure of a bearded sage stands within a gold arched niche decorated with garlands of red, yellow, white and purple flowers. The figure wears a rust-brown turban with a white jewelled band, a rust-brown robe and wrap, and multiple layers of ornate silver and gold necklaces with a large central pendant. Its right hand is raised in a blessing gesture. Beside the statue are a brass kalasha vessel and a teal costume figure in front of a golden decorative frame. The statue is a depiction, not a living person, so no physical people are counted.2017-09-11Photo 11704853 +1 copiesMay 27 20132013-05-27A gilded statue standing in a temple setting, wearing a tall ornate golden crown with red and green stone inlays and a large feathered-style headpiece. The figure wears a purple silk dhoti-style garment with gold zari borders, a heavy silver-and-gem necklace with a red central medallion, and has its right hand raised in abhaya mudra. Layered garlands of yellow marigolds, red roses and white jasmine drape the figure, and brass oil lamps with lit flames stand on either side. Behind it, a large decorated structure is wrapped in flower garlands and bands of red, orange, blue and gold embellishment. This appears to be a deity murti or utsava image used in a procession, not a living person.2016-12-06May 27 20132013-05-27June 14 20162016-06-14
