Many participants sit in rows on the steps, each before a black stone shivalingam set on a round black yoni-peetha base. Brass vessels and bowls surround the lingams. Several people blow long brass horns (shankha-style trumpets) toward the lingams. Most men are bare-chested wearing white dhotis and rudraksha malas; one man in front wears a red-bead mala and holds a horn. Women wear saris and red-bead malas, one in a white sari with red border and a woman in a cream-and-blue top, with vibhuti on her forehead. Behind, red tent fabric and a chain-link fence frame the scene, with a cameraman and a few people in the background.2016-12-17December 18 20162016-12-18Photo 11705320
