A shaved-headed priest in orange kneels at left beside brass vessels, fruit offerings and kalasha-like pots with white flowers. Behind the fire, about a dozen seated devotees in orange shawls and white clothes sit with hands folded. A gilded throne with a tiger-patterned cushion stands at left, and a camera tripod is visible. A standing priest in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, wearing a gold necklace and holding a small bell, watches a homa fire burning in a brick-lined fire pit. In the foreground, a man in orange dhoti with gold waist cord and bangles feeds an offering into the flames with a metal ladle. Behind them, devotees sit on the floor and chairs, several with palms pressed together. On the right, a deity murti is garlanded with white jasmine, and yellow and orange flower arrangements sit on a low table in front. A framed photo on the wall shows people sitting around a campfire. Many people are visible, including partially visible devotees along the edges.2012-09-04Outdoor homa ritual at a fire pit built into a stone platform, with flames and smoke rising from offerings of grains and flowers. Devotees in saffron and white kneel with palms joined in front of a red velvet armchair with gold trim. Behind them, a shrine with a deity murti sits under a golden arch, with palm trees, a red compound wall and a parked silver SUV. Small brass bowls of kumkum and flowers sit at the edge of the pit.2013-09-09July 11 20122012-07-11A photograph of a homa or yagna ritual at night in a temple courtyard. A brick fire pit with a lit flame sits in the foreground, with pots of yellow-coloured offerings and a small plate of pink flowers nearby. Three young priests in orange and rust-coloured dhotis stand around the fire: the left one holds a plate of pink petals, the centre one, bare-chested with a white rudraksha garland, pours offerings into the flame, and the right one, also bare-chested with a rudraksha mala, holds a small bell. Behind them, a seated man in a rust-coloured robe with an orange garland sits on a white ornate throne, with a brass vessel on a tray before him. Carved wooden screens and a lit oil lamp are visible at the right edge.2018-04-26 +1 copiesA homa or yagna fire burns in a metal fire pit on an orange cloth, with brass and steel bowls of offerings, bananas and flowers around it.
