A photograph of a shaved-headed man in the foreground, eyes closed, palms pressed together in anjali mudra, seated among a row of other devotees in white dhotis and bare-chested. He wears a rudraksha mala around his neck and bead bracelets on his wrist, with white vertical tilak marks on his forehead, nose and arms. Several other men sit blurred behind him, some in white and yellow cloth. The setting appears to be a prayer or puja gathering with a soft, out-of-focus background.2017-01-01January 01 20172017-01-01A seated group of men in white dhotis with bare upper bodies sits in a row on blue mats during a ritual gathering in a warmly lit hall. The man in front, with hair tied in a topknot, wears a red-and-green rudraksha mala, a gold bangle and a hoop earring, and presses his palms together in anjali with eyes closed. Others behind him sit in similar prayer postures with white sacred markings on their bodies. Small oil lamps and red offerings sit on the floor, and a lit altar with a deity murti glows at the upper right.2017-01-03November 13 20102010-11-13January 01 20172017-01-01A young man sits with eyes closed and palms pressed together in anjali mudra at chest level, in a devotional gathering. He wears a rudraksha mala and a bracelet, and white ash marks show on his shoulders. Blurred figures on both sides, also with white markings and malas, kneel in prayer. Warm lamp light glows in the background and a lit oil lamp appears near the centre, with colourful offerings and deity imagery blurred behind.2017-01-26A photograph of a shirtless man seated outdoors on red stone steps in prayer, palms pressed together at chest level. He has a white vertical tilak with a red bindi on his forehead, long matted hair, and wears multiple strands of rudraksha malas, a rudraksha bracelet, a small red-and-gold pendant, and a white dhoti with an orange-bordered cloth. Behind him, other figures in white dhotis sit on the steps, and a dark stone shivalinga sits in the foreground beside brass pots, pink flower petals and a smoking incense stick. The setting suggests an outdoor puja or aarti, and this man presents as a person by his rudraksha malas, ornate adornments and ritual setting.2017-07-17
