Five men stand at the back holding lit torches or oil-lamp flames: four wear saffron/orange dhotis and shawls with ornate beaded necklaces, and one wears white with an orange shawl. Several women in white saris and rudraksha malas sit cross-legged on mats in front of a long table lined with brass lamps and bells, with plates of flowers, fruit and offerings. Green leaf garlands hang from the roof beams and paper lanterns in yellow, blue and green decorate the ceiling. Devotees sit on the floor behind them, and a saffron cloth lies over an object on the left.2008-12-26A photograph inside a large hall during an evening aarti ritual. Four or five young men stand in a row at the right holding lit oil lamps (aarti lamps), bare-chested with orange dhotis, red-orange garlands and beaded rudraksha necklaces. Seated and standing devotees in orange and red garments fill the room, and women in orange saris sit at a low altar table on the left. A golden throne with a pink-clad seated figure stands at the left wall, with curtains, wall panels and ceiling lights above. No one on the throne is clearly identifiable as a person, so the candidate is unsure.2016-10-12October 12 20162016-10-12Photograph of an indoor ritual hall during an evening puja. Seated women in orange and red saris tend brass lamps and ritual items on the left, and a crowd of seated devotees fills the right side. A small golden shrine with a pink deity murti sits at the back left, with framed pictures on the walls and a ceiling fan overhead. Several people are visible, including the standing ritual performers and the seated devotees.2016-10-12October 03 20082008-10-03A photograph of a group puja in a bright hall with pale pink walls and red curtains. In the foreground, rows of young men in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on mats, several with white forehead bands, holding small oil lamps and spoons and offering rituals on brass trays with bowls, flowers and white petals. Among them, a man in white dhoti and shawl sits with a rudraksha mala. Behind them, many seated devotees in white and black clothes watch the ceremony.
