A man in a white dhoti with a maroon border is at left, and his hand, with a gold bangle, is lighting or tending a small silver oil lamp (deepam) with a lit wick. Silver and brass bowls and a plate hold offerings, including a heap of dried sticks, a platter of ripe bananas, oranges and apples, and a green cloth. In the background, figures in orange and gold garments stand beside the platform. The scene is lit warmly with a shallow focus.
