Close view of a ritual offering being prepared on a low white platform. A man in a white dhoti with a maroon border is at left, and his hand, with a gold bangle, is lighting or tending a small silver oil lamp (deepam) with a lit wick. Silver and brass bowls and a plate hold offerings, including a heap of dried sticks, a platter of ripe bananas, oranges and apples, and a green cloth. In the background, figures in orange and gold garments stand beside the platform. The scene is lit warmly with a shallow focus.2012-04-23Close-up photograph of a homa or fire ritual. A priest in white dhoti with a red-and-white border reaches toward a brass vessel and a bright oil lamp with several flames. A pile of dried twigs or samidha sticks rests on a silver tray beside bananas, oranges and limes on a metal plate, with a yellow cloth nearby. Blurred orange and gold robes and metal vessels appear in the background.2012-04-23A photograph of a ritual setting on a brass table with a silver multi-wick oil lamp being lit. Two hands, one holding a lit taper, are tending the flames of the lamp; the sleeve of one arm shows bangles and the visible person wears a rust-red cloth and a beaded rudraksha mala with gold ornaments. Surrounding the lamp are silver and brass bowls containing yellow turmeric or kumkum powder, a covered silver vessel, a small silver cup with incense sticks, and a shallow dish with pink flower petals. Behind the table a striped silk cloth wraps a tall white candle, and incense smoke rises through the air. Blurred yellow-edged platform and glittering shrine decorations fill the background.2017-09-28 +1 copiesApril 26 20182018-04-26 +1 copiesFebruary 09 20122012-02-09Close-up photo of a ritual fire being lit on a red cloth. Two hands, one wearing a thin silver bangle, hold a bundle of thin sticks whose tips burn with a bright flame over a shallow steel plate. Burnt black material and a dark ash mound sit in the plate. Behind it stand a brass oil lamp, a brass vessel, and plates of yellow and red flowers, green leaves and marigolds. The scene suggests a homa or puja offering. No faces are visible and no a person candidate appears in the frame.2018-04-14January 08 20122012-01-08October 28 20102010-10-28 +2 copiesOctober 27 20102010-10-27December 19 20102010-12-19 +1 copiesDecember 05 20162016-12-05November 10 20112011-11-10
