Dense crowds stand on both sides, many women in white sarees and men in white kurtas, with some in orange. Palm trees and a dusk sky frame the scene.2016-03-07March 07 20162016-03-07Outdoor evening scene at a temple-like ground with palm trees and a pale sunset sky. A long red carpet runs down the centre toward a canopied stage with a deity murti or altar at its far end. Crowds of devotees in white clothing, many women in white saris with gold borders, stand in lines behind metal stanchions along both sides. In the foreground, a bald man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala stands with his back to the camera, next to a man in white. Other devotees sit on mats near the carpet. The scene reflects a Pratyakshya Pada Puja darshan line at a Mahashivaratri gathering. The man in saffron shows no distinctive a person cues, so he is described only by role; identity is not inferred.2016-03-07March 07 20162016-03-07A dense crowd of devotees queues along a red carpet at an outdoor ashram event under palm trees and a banana plant with green bunches. Many women wear white saris with thin borders, some with red or pink shawls, and several have white or red marks on their foreheads. A woman in an orange sari and beaded necklace stands at left beside a sannyasi-style figure in orange with a rudraksha mala and white forehead markings. Others in white receive blessings and touch of ritual markings. A metal barrier line runs along the right edge where more people in white stand. Several women in white sit or stand with garlands and small paper slips.2016-03-07A large outdoor event under a white canopy with a red carpet and a floral-garlanded railing in the foreground. Many devotees wearing white and cream ritual clothing stand and walk in a line through the tent, with some women in cream and orange saris. Men in white shirts and white dhotis, some with rudraksha malas around their necks, stand in the foreground near the garlands. Loudspeakers stand on the right beside white drapery, and a crowd of spectators sits behind a barrier on blue seating at the left. No individual is identifiable as a person in this view.2009-07-07December 22 20092009-12-22A large seated gathering of devotees, mostly women, sits closely packed under a long pavilion decorated with orange and red hanging banners and palm-frond pillars. Most wear white or cream clothing, several with rudraksha malas around their necks, and many have eyes closed in meditation with hands resting on their laps. Others sit in rows behind, with some women in pink and floral garments at the right edge. No single leader is clearly distinguishable in the foreground; the scene reads as a satsang or meditation session with an audience.2007-01-01January 13 20152015-01-13A photograph of devotees standing in two long lines under a white tent with yellow fringed valances, on a sandy-red path. On the left, men in white shirts and white dhotis wear rudraksha malas and name badges; a man in a white shirt holds a light blue cloth. On the right, women in white sarees and saffron-orange clothing stand with bangles and beaded malas, and a man in white with an orange-red shawl stands among them. Palm trees and a blue structure appear beyond the tent. Crowd appears to be waiting in line for a ceremony.2014-08-24
