October 12 20072007-10-12October 12 20072007-10-12Night photo of a large crowd gathered on a dirt ground beneath trees at a festival procession. Many people in white dhotis and white shirts, women in saris and salwar kameez, and children fill the scene; several raise hands in devotion. A bald man in an orange-saffron robe stands near the center, his arms bent, and an older man in a light saffron cloth stands beside him. A yellow-flowering tree and a pennant with a red emblem appear at the right, and a white vehicle is parked at the edge. The count is far above twenty, so the scene holds well over twenty people.2013-03-10June 27 20142014-06-27Night photo of a procession at an ashram, with people in white dhotis and shirts walking along a sandy path past a whitewashed building edged with red and white stripes. Strings of coloured lights decorate the building and the lit sign above the doorway. Several men wear orange shawls over white clothing, and a child in white stands near the front. Some people raise their arms. A figure in the middle wears an orange shawl and white garments, but the visible cues are not distinctive enough to confirm any identity, so the candidate remains uncertain. Festive lighting marks the evening Navaratri celebration.2007-10-12December 25 20072007-12-25A photograph of an indoor hallway with pale yellow-green walls, a metal railing and a stairway. Many devotees stand in groups: men and women in white dhotis, kurtas and saris with orange shawls draped over their shoulders, and several women in orange saris. A tall woman in an orange sari stands with folded arms near the steps, and a woman in white with an orange shawl holds small items near her hands at right. Bare feet rest on a sandy floor, and a row of sandals sits at the lower left.October 07 20112011-10-07February 03 20092009-02-03February 03 20092009-02-03Evening outdoor gathering in front of a white-walled building with a staircase and white railings. A central figure in a saffron-orange robe sits on the steps, with long dark hair, speaking to a seated circle of about twenty people. Most men wear white shirts and white dhotis or trousers, and several wear rudraksha malas; a few women in pale saris and a child sit on the left. The people sit on dusty ground, and a parked silver car is visible at the right edge.2009-02-03A night-time outdoor gathering on dirt ground beneath a tree with yellow blossoms and a steel frame structure behind. A large crowd of devotees, mostly men in white shirts and white dhotis, some in orange or saffron robes and a few women in colourful saris and salwar, press together with hands raised and palms folded. A red-clad figure stands at left, and a small child is visible among the crowd. At upper right a white vehicle and a tall pole carry a decorated orange and red ornamental banner. The scene appears to be a celebratory or devotional procession with people moving and reaching outward.2013-03-10
