A photograph of a ritual scene with several people in orange and white clothing. In the foreground, a figure in a rust-coloured garment with a garland of white and red flowers stands beside a brass tray holding white rounded offerings, possibly coconuts or balls wrapped in white. A man with grey hair and a white short-sleeved shirt and white dhoti leans forward, reaching toward the tray with his right hand. Behind him, a person in orange robes wears a rudraksha mala and stands with arms lowered. The setting appears to be an outdoor courtyard at night, with a camera operator visible at the upper right edge.2016-07-18March 06 20162016-03-06 +1 copiesJuly 18 20162016-07-18Close view of a ritual offering in a temple setting. A bare-backed man in a saffron-orange dhoti holds a shining metal tray with yellow coconuts wrapped in yellow thread, a gold ornament and a small brass item, supported on his outstretched hand. White horizontal tripundra-like stripes mark his arms and back, with rudraksha beads on his arm and a brown rudraksha mala across his shoulder. Beside him a person in a brown saffron-toned robe stands with hands folded and a long pink and blue flower garland. Behind them hang yellow and red marigold and rose garlands.2016-12-19A photograph of an outdoor welcome ritual on a village street. A smiling man with long swept-back dark hair, a small red tilak, saffron orange shawl and a rudraksha mala stands centre-left, receiving a silver tray of offerings. The tray holds red bananas, split coconut halves, pink and white flower petals and a small red-and-silver vessel. An older man with grey hair in a white dhoti with a gold border offers the tray, and another man in orange clothing stands at the right edge. Bystanders in orange and white clothes, one with glasses and a beard, crowd behind them under a corrugated roof. Gold bangles are visible on a wrist at the lower left.2009-01-12A photograph of a devotee's hand resting on a white-wrapped bundle placed on a brass tray decorated with marigold and flower petals, in front of a seated figure wrapped in orange cloth with gold border. A man in white dhoti with orange-gold border and a rudraksha mala stands with palms joined beside a red-cushioned gold throne. The bundle is part of a set of white coconut bundles on the floor, consistent with a padapuja offering of coconuts at the feet of a seated guru on a throne. The seated figure's face is not visible in the frame.2016-01-02June 27 20142014-06-27A man in a white kurta bows forward with his head lowered toward a dark wooden tray stacked with orange fruit, while a shaved-headed attendant in orange-brown garments places a hand on the bowing man's head. Seated at right, a woman in a red-orange garment wears a long white jasmine garland with orange flower accents and holds an orange fruit in her lap. Behind them, a cameraman films beside a standing figure in white and a figure with a rudraksha mala. Potted green plants and a white column fill the background under pink-toned light.2015-01-03July 03 20142014-07-03Night-time outdoor event lit by green string lights. A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a red-striped border and a rudraksha mala holds a woven basket with both hands, extended toward a group of men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange-red shawls draped over their shoulders. The men stand with palms pressed together in anjali, some with white tilak on their foreheads, and some carry white cloth bundles on their shoulders. Behind them, other men in white and orange garments stand in the crowd. The scene suggests a devotional offering or ritual distribution.2016-07-18July 03 20142014-07-03June 21 20122012-06-21
