A dirt road procession of children and a few adults in an outdoor compound. In the foreground, a child in white dhoti-style clothing carries a tall yellow ceremonial standard with a green emblem topped by a white bird, held on a wooden pole. Beside them, a girl in a light blue dress holds a second yellow and red banner. A boy in a white shirt and dark trousers plays a large drum slung at his side, and another child carries a small metal pot. Behind them, an adult in saffron-orange clothing walks among the group. A tractor and palm trees stand in the background, along with a flagpole and a small roofed structure.2006-05-04Photo 11724862 +1 copiesA festival procession moves along a dirt path lined with palm trees and a thatched hut, with a pink flowering shrub at left. Two large ornate umbrellas with red, yellow and white panels are carried above the group. Drummers lead in the foreground: one in a yellow dhoti and cloth belt beats a pink-bodied drum, another in an orange-and-white outfit plays a drum, and a third in white shirt and yellow cloth carries a large brown drum. A man in orange shirt and white dhoti plays a long wind instrument. Behind them, many devotees in white shirts and dhotis, and women in white and yellow saris, walk in the procession. A white-clad figure with orange clothing stands near the center, and a bare-chested man with an orange shawl walks ahead.2009-12-24February 18 20112011-02-18 +1 copiesSeptember 11 20102010-09-11January 01 20042004-01-01January 01 20042004-01-01October 19 20062006-10-19A procession of young men dressed in white walks along a dirt path through green trees. Two men at the front carry large triangular yellow banners with red centres and blue-green floral borders, raised on tall poles. A man in white shirt and trousers beats a large drum, while another young man in a white shirt, with a beaded mala around his neck, leads the group holding a blue strap. Several men in white dhotis and shirts follow behind, some smiling, some clapping. The scene suggests a ceremonial walk in a forested area.2007-10-01A photograph of a rural dirt-path procession at dawn or dusk, with tall trees and dry grass lining the path. Under a colourful striped and embroidered canopy with pennant fringe, a central figure in an orange and yellow cloth and a flower garland walks forward, surrounded by men in white dhotis and white shirts. Several men carry long blue poles supporting the canopy, and others hold saffron-orange flags on the sides. A man in white plays a large drum. Behind, more people in white and some in blue shirts follow along the path.2004-01-01February 12 20102010-02-12 +1 copies2009-glimpses-of-kodikkan-ratha-pada-yatra
