A man in orange robes with a turban-like head wrap and a sannyasi in saffron-orange cloth walk with a woman in orange who carries a folded paper, while a man in white dhoti and shirt stands further along. Nearby, a bearded man in a purple shirt and dark trousers stands with hands folded. To the right, an older man in white dhoti and shawl with a green-and-gold border stands on stone steps. Further right, a man in white clothing and a woman in green stand beside a vertical metal pole. The photo shows people discussing the layout around the banyan tree.2018-02-01Outdoor ritual scene at a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots and a low red-washed stone platform at its base. Several bare-chested men in orange saffron dhotis stand on a paved stone path. One man in front holds a tall yellow-shafted ceremonial umbrella with a fringed canopy of blue, red, yellow and white tassels. Another man in the centre raises a lit oil lamp toward the tree. Garlands of yellow and orange marigolds hang on the trunk and on a man's shoulders, with a red floral garland at the front. Dappled sunlight falls across the path and the tree.2018-12-22 +1 copies
